When does Ramadan 2027 begin?
Calendar listings currently put the first fasting day on Monday, February 8, 2027. For example, the Morocco observance listing marks the date as tentative. It is a planning estimate, not a religious announcement.
Ramadan’s first evening begins at sunset on the previous Gregorian date, February 7 in this estimate. This site calculates an approximate sunset from the selected city’s coordinates and time zone. It does not predict crescent visibility or make an official announcement.
The astronomical new moon and the first visible crescent are different moments. The Moon’s phase, the time of year, and the observer’s location affect when the crescent can be seen. That is why a calculated date alone cannot confirm the beginning of the month.
Check the announcement from your local mosque or religious authority close to the date. Morocco’s Ministry of Habous publishes notices reporting the result of its crescent observation; other countries and communities may follow different authorities.
